Berthenia M. Wallace passed away January 2, 2018, at her Walker County home. Berthenia was born on February 27, 1920, in Bryan, Texas to Sam and Elma Ellis. She now joins her parents, as well as her beloved husband: Lawrence Wallace, Sr. and her sons: Lawrence Wallace Sr. and Shelton Wallace. Berthenia leaves a legacy to cherished by her family that includes her grandchildren: Derald Williams (Betty) and Lawrence Rashaud Wallace (Tammy); both of College, Station, Texas, Jennifer Wallace-Jackson (Steven); of Baytown, Texas, and Stacie Wallace; of Missouri City, Texas; great-grandchildren: Bre'Anna Stepney, Joshua Wallace, Lauryn Wallace, and Aaron Michael Johnson; sisters: Evelyn Faye Johnson; of Sugarland, Texas and Brenda Kaye Shaw; of Houston, Texas; daughter-in-law: Dr. Minister Shirley Tucker Wallace; sister-in-laws: Franke Lucille Harris; of Victoria, Texas and Mattie Wallace; of Fort Worth, Texas; friend and co-worker: Zenna Mattingly Smith; of Huntsville, Texas. Friday, January 5, 2018, 12:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M., viewing will be held at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Bethania's homegoing celebration will be Saturday, January 6, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at First Missionary Baptist Church, in Huntsville. Her body will lie in state an hour before the service. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Bryan, Texas.
