Bettie Jo's Story
Bettie Jo Tullos Walker, age 75, of Trinity, Texas, was called to Heaven by Our Lord on December 30th. 2017 after a prolonged illness.
Memorial services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday January 6th. 2017 at Burning Hope Baptist Church with Brother Jim Parrish, officiating. Arrangements are being made by Waller Thornton Funeral Home.
Bettie was born in Trinity, Texas to Leon Tullos & Alberta Thompson on December 25, 1942, and graduated from Trinity High School. While married to Richard Benson, she traveled and lived in many US States while raising her children as a Navy wife. Spent several years in Spain and returned to live in Huntsville and later to Trinity with her husband, Carson Bud Walker, where she lived the remainder of her life. Bettie worked as a LVN, Medical Secretary and receptionist. She was instrumental in the startup and food preparation of the Burning Hope Soup Kitchen before and after the new church was built. Bettie joined a Missionary group that traveled to Belize to build a school and provide supplies to the children. She had a big heart and was quick to selflessly help anyone in need. Bettie was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew her.
Bettie is preceded in death by her husband Carson Bud Walker, Mother Alberta Thompson Jennings & Step Father Kent Jennings, Father Clarence Leon Tullos & Step Mother Violet Tullos, Sisters Patricia Delle Tullos Riddle and Sallie May Tullos Hopkins.
Bettie is survived by Son Tim Benson and wife Elisha Benson, Daughter Melissa Benson and Tracie Gardner, Sisters Jauniece Tullos Czajka and husband Fred, Joy Marie Lawson and husband Donnie, and Cheryl Whited. Grandchildren Rance Benson, Tyler Benson and Morgan Benson. Many nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Rance Benson, Tyler Benson, Morgan Benson, Brooks Grubb, Ty Grubb, and Steven Keith Hopkins.
