Betty Bell
Betty Bell was born on June 5, 1932 in Sweetwater, Texas to Elizabeth and Charles Kodytek. She passed into the arms of her Lord on April 4, 2019. Betty grew up in Sweetwater, Texas before entering the University of Houston where she received her Bachelor's Degree.
She spent her career as the purchasing agent as well as an educator at Houston Community College before retiring in the 1990's. Some of her favorite activities included quilting, embroidery, crocheting, painting, and gardening. Betty belonged to many quilting guilds in the surrounding area and was a contributing member of the Walker County Master Gardeners program.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert David Laird. She is survived by her husband Burl Bell; her daughters Nova Laird, Connie & Dr. Sammie Bryan, and her son Kenneth Laird; 6 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many wonderful supportive friends.
Services will be held on Friday, April 12th at 10:00am, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home with family receiving friends at 8:30 am prior to service. Betty will be laid to rest at the Adickes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery following the Service. Betty was a dear sweet friend to everyone. I loved seeing her at the Cut Ups on Friday's at Fabric Carousel. Had been missing her and was wondering about her. My deepest heartfelt sympathies go out to the Family. I pray God gives you Peace at this time in your lives.
