Charlene's Story

Charlene Adams Evans (McLain) was born Oct 7, 1939 in Trumann, Arkansas to her loving mother and father Ollie Adams and Aaron and Jo Adams. Charlene departed this life on November 28, 2017 from a long illness and will be laid to rest On Dec 1, 2017 with Dr. Patrick Gernenz officiating.
Charlene is survived by three children, Dora Sheffield and husband James of Huntsville, TX., David Evans and wife Dorothy of Marion, Arkansas, and Sylvia Witte of Harrisburg, Arkansas; grandchildren Jennifer Madore and husband Stephen of Huntsville, TX, Matthew Sheffield and wife Sandy of Rosenburg, TX, Jarrod Adam Sheffield of Huntsville, TX, Amy Weber and husband Gary of Altenburg, MO, Gregory Witte and wife Randi of Huntsville, TX, and Daniel Parten. She had 8 great- grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren. She was preceded by her grandson Joseph Bryan Sheffield. All of whom she loved to talk to and spend time with dearly.
Charlene was an avid artist and loved oil painting and sketching with charcoals. She enjoyed and lived life to the fullest of her ability. She had an Academic Degree in Business, carried a Brokers in Real Estate License and was a nurse in the United States Army. She was of the Southern Baptist faith and volunteered for many different post as she was raising her children. She loved spending time with the grand and great-grandchildren in which they all loved calling her Granny.
Visitation will be on Friday Dec 1, 2017, at noon in the chapel at Sam Houston Funeral Home in Huntsville, TX with services beginning at 1:00pm, following visitation.
