Claude Pendleton Henry, Jr
Claude Pendleton Henry, Jr, 93, passed away peacefully in Huntsville on January 20, 2018. He was born May 28, 1924 in Hearne, Texas to Claude, Sr, and Lela Henry. He was married for 63 years to Martha Mathews Henry.
Claude was a graduate of Hearne High School. He worked for Humble Oil/Exxon Corporation for 31 years as a permit man and surveyor on company geophysical crews covering West Texas, New Mexico, Oregon, East Texas as well as the King Ranch in South Texas, and then as a geophysical technician in the Gulf Coast
Exploration Division of Exxon.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church Huntsville. The focus of his life was his family. He always made time to take the family on camping and fishing trips. Lots of Sunday afternoons were spent fishing on local lakes. After retirement, Claude and Martha enjoyed pulling their trailer and driving the Alaskan Highway, numerous trips to Canada, particularly Nova Scotia, as well as traveling through almost every state in the Lower 48. In between travels, he was an excellent woodworker creating several family heirlooms such as a grandfather clock, a dry sink, and baby cradles.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers Robert S. Henry and William S. Henry, and infant great-granddaughter Sunshine Tillerson. He is survived by: daughter Jamie Tillerson of Huntsville; sons: Pat and wife Judy of Jersey Village, Tom and wife Lynda of College Station, and David and wife Melissa of Magnolia; grandchildren: Robert Tillerson and wife Vicky of Katy, Michael Tillerson and wife Molly of Cedar Park, Chris Ann Stroech and husband Lucas of Brenham, Traci Hinchcliffe and husband Morgan of Las Colinas, Cory Henry and wife Kelsey of The Woodlands, Sarah Bowden and husband Blake of Jersey Village, Amy Haug and husband Zac of Austin, and Tyler Henry of Austin; great-grandchildren: Graceyn Stroech, Lily Tillerson, Sienna Tillerson, Braelyn Stroech, Madeline Henry, Reece Tillerson, Riley Tillerson, Kaleb Stroech, Lucy Hinchcliffe, Carson Henry, Grant Tillerson, Parker Bowden, Abigail Hinchcliffe, and Henry twin boys due in March. Also surviving are sisters: Sally Johns and husband Ken of Albuquerque, NM, and Lela Smith and husband Bob of College Station.

Pallbearers will be Robert Tillerson, Michael Tillerson, Cory Henry, Tyler Henry, Lucas Stroech, Morgan Hinchcliffe, Blake Bowden, and Zac Haug.
The family would like to thank caregiver Jean Archie for her loving care and assistance during the past six years.
Visitation will be held at 10 am at Memorial Funeral Home with graveside services at 11 am at the Norwood Cemetery in Hearne, Texas, with Dr. Godfrey Hubert officiating.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, Hearne, Texas.
