David Ryan Newman

David Ryan Newman, age 46, of Huntsville, Texas passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 3, 2019, leaving behind devastated family and friends.
David, a longtime resident of Huntsville, was born to David and Gloria Newman in Greenfield, Indiana on September 9, 1972. He is survived by his Parents, and wife of 20 years, Sandy Newman; daughter, Morgan Taylor Newman, and son, David Augusta (Gus) Newman. He also leaves behind his brother and wife, Josh and Morgan Newman of Huntsville, TX and their children, Leighton and Blair, as well as sister and husband, Sarah and Sam Hardin of New Caney, TX and their children, Samuel and Lincoln. He was also loved and adored by brother-in-law and wife, Joe and Katy Tyler of Huntsville, TX and their children Savannah and Ty; brother-in-law and wife, Wayne and Crystal Pool of Huntsville, TX and their children, Emme, Caroline, Cotton, Henry and Sarah; and sister-in-law and husband Suzy and Gary Riley and their children Maddie, Jack, Grady, MaryJo and Raymond. He is also survived by his in-laws: Debbie and Mike Skidmore of Huntsville, TX; Wayne Sr and Debbie Pool of Huntsville, TX; and Mary Jo Pool of Huntsville, TX.
David is preceded in death by his son, Blake Ryan Newman; grandparents, David and Thelma Newman of Huntsville, TX; and Bernice and Pauline Thompson of Wilkinson, Indiana.
David and his family moved to Huntsville in 1980. He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1990 and went on to receive his Associates Degree from DeVry University in Dallas. After graduating, he worked for a time in the technical business before changing career paths to join the oilfield. It was here in the Brotherhood of the Oilfield that he made many long-lasting and cherished friendships. Being a part of the patch was a harsh tradeoff, but he made it work to provide a good life for his family. As a veteran of the oilfield, he cherished every moment he was home. You could always find him around the campfire simply enjoying time with his family and friends. When not at home, he loved to spend his time hunting in South Texas. There were fewer places on earth he would rather be. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 95. As a member of the Riders of the American Legion, he enjoyed rides on his Harley with fellow Riders and truly felt free from the weight that life sometimes brings.
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to this loving and devoted man. There are no words to express our shock and sorrow; we only have comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with Blake, never to be separated again.
David's pallbearers are special friends Clint Wilson, Justin Waltz, Alan Fulenwider, Jared Hathorn, Tyler Dartez, Randal Prehoda, Burk Yates, Mike Price, Jason Kelley and Dalton Ramon. Honorary pallbearers include Huey Campbell, Joey Williamson, Kameron Thompson, Gary Davis, and Scott Ducote.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Second Baptist Church of Huntsville or American Legion Post 95 in memory of David.
Family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville. A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Second Baptist Church in Huntsville. Condolences to the family may be made at www.shmfh.com
