Diane's Story

Text size

Diane K. Linklater, 79, passed away in Huntsville, Texas June 8th, surrounded by family and friends, after a long struggle with lung cancer. Diane was born in Monterey California in 1937 and raised in Carmel. In 1956, she married Charles W. Linklater and moved to Texas. Diane earned her BA and MA with honors at The University of Houston in Speech Pathology. Diane was a professor at Sam Houston State University in the 1970's and later became a traveling health care professional. Diane was quick to volunteer her time to anyone in need, from providing therapy to those who could not pay, to sheltering those in need. She was brilliant, irreverent, sharp-witted and enjoyed nothing more than laughing with friends and family.
Ms. Linklater is survived by her children; Susan (Roger) Partharsarathy, Tricia Linklater, Richard Linklater and 7 grandchildren: Quin, Grant. Lorelei, Jackson, Matthew, Alina and Charlotte. The Linklater family would like to express loving gratitude to caregiver and friend Paula Hargraves, and a special thanks to ?Dr. Nabeel Khan, Dr. Sudhir Sehgal and the many loving medical teams who cared for Diane during her illness.
