Dorothy's Story

Text size

Dorothy was born in Gonzales, Texas on October 4, 1926. She entered heaven peacefully, with Wiley, her devoted husband, at her bedside on February 19, 2017. Dorothy will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Dorothy had a very upbeat personality. Her contagious laugh and her genuine gift of hospitality are a couple of qualities that exemplify this beautiful lady. She loved caring for others and committed many years to doing so in her career as a nurse. She also enjoyed caring for their beloved cats through the years. She particularly loved being outdoors and in the beauty of her favorite flowers: bluebonnets and daylilies. She and Wiley traveled extensively and lived in Alaska for quite a few years while he was employed there.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Rosa Mark Brzozowski and Adolph J. Brzozowski, Sr.; and her brothers, Adolph J. Brzozowski, Jr. (Bubba or Buck or Papa Bro) and John Anton Brzozowski (Johnny). She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Wiley; her niece and husband, Barbara and Jerry Larrison of Huntsville and their daughters, great nieces Sheri Watson and husband, Barry, and Rachel Yarabeck and husband, John. Also their children: Cooper Watson, Mitchell Watson, and Caroline Yarabeck. She is also survived by her nephews Tony Brzozowski and family, Michael Brzozowski and long-time dedicated friend, Jackie Stevens.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of The Lexington Center, Traditions Hospice and caregivers: Tonya Schoubroek, Mary Kizzie, Tara Naules, Sara Fairchild, and Misty Leslie.
