On the evening of November 11, 2016, Dr. Sara Ann Hart passed away at Huntsville Memorial Hospital at the age of 74.  Dr. Hart was born in Greenville, Texas, April 20, 1942 to Arval and Tommie Ragland Smart.  Dr. Hart was a graduate of the University of Houston, East Texas State University and Lone Oak High School.  In 1964, she began her career in education at Lee College in Baytown. The following year, she continued her career in education at Sam Houston State University which extended over 40 years.  She traveled the globe - presenting her research and participating in workshops - to places as far away as Greece, Spain, Mexico, and Hawaii. Dr. Hart was one of a kind, she opened her heart and home to many throughout the years. Her family was the light of her life. She enjoyed holiday with family and spending time with friends. Sara was always encouraging, upbeat and ready with a helping hand regardless of her own personal struggles. She was full of life and a delight to be around even as her health declined. Our world will not be nearly as colorful without her in it!
