Elic Jordan Hinson, jr, known as PeeWee to family and friends, was born May 24, 1938 in Huntsville, Tx, and passed from this world, Monday, June 17, 2019. He will lie in state Saturday and Sunday June 22nd and 23rd from 1-4 pm. Visitation will be Monday June 24th at 9 am with services immediately following at 10 am, all at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Clines Prairie Cemetery.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juanita, parents Elic Hinson, Sr and Mattie High Hinson, sister Ann Shafer and nephew Kenneth Shafer.

He is survived by stepson Larry Grisham and wife Martha, Stepson Tom Grisham and wife Debbie, stepson Kenny Grisham and wife Karen. Grandchildren Chuck Grisham and wife Karen, Mark Grisham and wife Angela, Trisha McCaffety and husband Jason, Tiffany Grisham, James Coker and wife Valerie, Lisa Namken and husband Kerry, Kelly Howard and husband Noel, Kody
Shepherd and husband Brooks, Kacey Ratcliff and husband Reagan, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, numerous cousins, and long time family friend John Hobbs and his wife Kathy.

PeeWee was employed by the City of Huntsville for 19 years. In 1957, at age 18, he joined the Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department, where he proudly served for 44+years. He rode as volunteer with several Walker County Sheriff officers and Texas Game Warden. He worked at Peter's Tractor Sales, better known as the "Ford Tractor Place". Throughout his life, he raised cows and baled hay. He was proud that he was able to carry on the family ranch. PeeWee will be remembered for many things, mostly his generosity of his time. He was always willing to help when he could.
