Elbert Leroy Albritton
June 07, 1930 - February 05, 2019
As a young man he enjoyed photography, choir, basketball and the slide rule club. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Marine Corps and achieved the rank of sergeant. Shortly after enlisting, he married the love of his life, Ann, for which they were married 63 years. Military life took them from Louisiana to California and finally back to Texas. Born the son of a carpenter, woodworking was his passion. Elbert received his teaching degree at Sam Houston Teachers College which led him to Pampa, TX to start his teaching career there for 11 years. From there he moved his family to Baytown, TX where he taught wood shop and drafting at both Lee and Sterling High School for 20 years. Elbert loved attending the Oakhurst Full Gospel church and helping them with woodworking projects.
Many thanks to Dr. Syed Jafri for his immeasurable care, information and support as well as the third floor nursing staff of Huntsville Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. A service will follow the visitation at 1:30 PM in the chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. Interment will follow the service at Addicks Addition of Oakwood Cemetery in Huntsville, Texas.
