Frances Corry Hammer passed away peacefully at her home in Huntsville, Texas on December17, 2018. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 4, 1918 to parents William F. and Lily Nina Corry. She grew up in Timpson, Texas and was a member of the First United Methodist Church there. She attended Texas Women's University and later married Charles O. Hammer on Sept 3, 1938. They raised three children, twin daughters, Barri and Betty and son Charles Richard in Houston, Texas. They later retired to Timpson, Texas in the 1970s. Frances was an avid reader, taught school, loved gardening and flowers, animals and anything to do with nature, played bridge and later in life, became an online stock trader. A very special, generous and loving lady. In 2003 she moved to Huntsville, Texas to be near her daughters, and was able to celebrate her 100th birthday with family and friends on July 4, 2018. She is preceded in death by her son, Charles R. Hammer, and her husband, Charles O. Hammer. Survivors include daughter, Barri Green and husband, Johnny, Betty Liles and husband, Stephen, six grand children, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
