Hal Lamond Toole, 76, of Huntsville, passed away at home Monday evening, June 13, 2016. He was born November 12, 1939, in Huntsville, TX, to Fred and Bertha (Pierce) Toole.
Hal graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1961, held several jobs over the years, and retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Huntsville.
Hal lived a life of service to God and his fellow man. He served as an LDS Bishop in Magnolia, TX, and a Branch President in Crockett, TX. He always gave all that he could for others, even as he battled Parkinson's Disease in later years. His love, kindness, and service will forever be remembered by those who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
Hal is preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Christine Rene Toole Tuck passed away just hours after him after her battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Brenda Jean Coy Toole (Huntsville); son Tracy Alan and wife Lori (Plano, TX); son Wesley Thomas (Huntsville); daughter Kelly Ann Eaton and husband Bruce (Pinedale, WY); son Cory Dawson and wife Janine (Piedmont, OK); son Douglas Andrew and wife Amber (North Salt Lake, UT); 23 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Nina Randall and husband Richard (Oakhurst, TX); brother Jerry Don and wife Anita (Oakhurst, TX); nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held for family and friends at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home-Huntsville on Friday, June 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18, at 11:00 am (with viewing at 10:00 am) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1803 19th Street). Interment will follow at Mt. Capers Cemetery in Oakhurst, TX.
