Helen M. Hoyt
Helen Marie Pendergrass Hoyt of Riverside, Texas departed this life at 1:15 P. M., Monday September 12, 2016. She was born in Alton, Illinois January 19, 1932 to Arthur Francis Pendergrass and Alvina Grace Kohlmiller. Her father died in 1936 and her mother remarried in 1938 to Harold Clifton Lindley. Helen grew up in the Pierron and Pocahontas Townships of Illinois. On July 7, 1952 she married Charles Edward Hoyt JR in Woodriver, Illinois and began her life as a devoted Navy Wife for the next 32 years; traveling around the U.S., Philippines, and Japan while raising her family.
Surviving her is husband, Charles E. Hoyt JR and three children; Charles W. Hoyt (Sandy) of Bakersfield, California, Alisa A. Hoyt of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Glenn A. Hoyt (Marilyn) of Bushnell, Illinois; two brothers; Ronald Lindley and Dale Lindley (Sharon), both of Pocahontas, Illinois; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, step-father, and a brother, Clifton Lindley.
Helen enjoyed sewing, cooking, archery, bowling, painting, and skeet shooting. She enjoyed making desserts such as cheese cake for the Thomas Lake Road Fire Department auctions. She was a devoted and loving wife of 64 years, a cherished mother to her children, and treasured sister.
There will be no memorial service. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, Missouri at a later date.
Our lives they pass too quickly,
Just a blink in the span of time.
You will be missed by those whose lives you have touched.

You may be gone, in pain no more,
But we will meet again at heaven's door
