Huldah Lorine Roberts


Huldah Lorine Roberts of Texas City, Texas passed away peacefully at 96 years old to be with her heavenly father on August 30, 2019. She was born on June 25, 1923 in Walker Co. Texas to beloved parents Mercer Lee and Mary Ellen Robinson.
A member of the greatest generation, she started her career at Carbide Texas City in production and later as a laboratory technician. She and her life-long friend Pat Alford quickly became known for their skills in the laboratory at Carbide. When the men returned from World War II, she met and broke-in as operator, her future husband Kenneth Webb Roberts. She became a housewife and mother raising a fine family with Kenneth. She was a member of the United Methodist faith throughout her life.
Lorine was a wonderful person encouraging and helping others and enjoying life and laughing up until the last day of her life. She was an accomplished self-taught painter until she lost her eyesight. She and Kenneth enjoyed raising beautiful flowers and gardening at their home and lake relaxation with grandchildren at Houston County Lake.
Lorine is preceded in death by her parents and five siblings. She is survived by her son Kenneth Jr. (wife Linda) of Bryan and her daughter Susan Keeton (husband Tommy) of Dickinson, grandchildren Matthew (Trisha), Mark (Marli), Meredith (Brandon), Brian (Julie), Josh (Athea) and Erin (Ross) and great grandchildren Amy, Brett, Lennon, Lincoln, Gavin, Hudson, Jennie, Sidney, Joshua, and Daxton.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2019 with visitation at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Huntsville, Texas. Burial will follow at Farris Cemetery, Richards at 2:30 pm. You are invited to view our website at
