James Anthony Pulliam passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter in Three Rivers, Texas on Saturday, October 21, 2017. He was 84 years old. He was adored by his three daughters, who considered him the best dad ever. They find peace in knowing he has joined his angel.
James was born May 23, 1933, to Fay and Nicholas Pulliam in Keller, Texas. He attended school in Keller, Texas. After graduating from high school he attended Sam Houston State Teachers College graduating with a degree in education.
While attending college he met and fell in love with Joyce Wells. James and Joyce were married December 24, 1953, at the home of Joyces parents. They were married 56 years.
James spent ten years in education serving as agriculture teacher and elementary school principal. He spent the rest of his career as owner and manager of Master Made Feed Store in Grapevine, Texas.
James is survived by his daughters Deborah (Lonnie) Craig, Susan (David) Williams, and Jamie (Marvin) Elledge. He is survived by his grandchildren Joe (Tanya) Smith, Scott (Lindsey) Williams, Kristina Williams, Christi (Michael) Loney, Matt (Sara) Craig, Amanda (Nick) Blair. He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren. James also left behind one brother, Henry Pulliam.
James is preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce, his parents, his sisters Gladella Ward, and Rita Bird, and brother Bill Pulliam.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 28, at 10:00am. Services will follow at 11:00 am at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at Leigh Cemetery.
