James Lonice Wright
James started his career at the age of 15, where he worked as an electrician in Beaumont, Texas. Soon after, he became a Master Electrician, and was a member of the local IBEW 479 union.
In March of 1950, he married his wife, Jean McCormick, of 68 years. They had five children, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. James was a 50 plus year Master Mason.
Soon after their marriage, James and Jean moved to Houston, Texas where James went to work for San Jacinto Glass Company. In 1959 he moved his family to Anchorage, Alaska where he and Jean opened up their first glass shop. They moved back to Beaumont in 1963, and James went back to work as an electrician for nine years, until they moved to Huntsville, Texas and opened Able Glass Company in 1972. Soon after, they opened up a second location in Conroe, Texas.
James, or Pappy to most, was truly the best of the best. There wasnt a job he wouldnt tackle, or a person he wouldnt befriend. He loved his family dearly.
The Wright family would like to say a very special thank you to Renee Tolliver, Violet Caesar and Donna Gilbert, for taking care of James in his last years of life.
James is preceded in death by his wife Jean McCormick Wright, his mother, Carrie Woodard Wright, his father, Harry Wright, his sister Beatrice Jeffcoat, and infant daughter, Darleen Wright.
He is survived by his four children, Jim and Miriam Wright, Denice Ward, Greg and Angie Wright, Randy and Trudy Wright; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Rushing, Lamar Ward, Travis Wright, Tracie Wright, Geoff Wright, Randi Lynne Wright, Ben Wright; and seven great grandchildren, Malynn Ward, Turner Ward, Foster Perdue, Tindall Wright, John Tyler Wright, Kakie Wright, and Kaizlee Wright.
