Jean McCormick Wright was born January 3, 1931 in Shepard, Texas. She was called home on December 3, 2017, where she died peacefully in her home.
Jean and James Wright got married on March 4, 1950 in Beaumont, Texas. In 1972 she and her husband moved to Huntsville and opened Able Glass & Mirror Co., Inc.. Later, they opened a second location in Conroe, Texas. She and her husband raised four children, and many grandchildren in the business.
Jean was the matriarch of the Wright family. She had a passion for cooking and loved to work in her garden, but her favorite past time was being Mammie. Her greatest accomplishment was her family, she took pride in raising her children and grandchildren. There wasnt much she couldnt do, she was an extraordinary woman and left quite the legacy.
Jean is proceeded in death by her father Curtis J. McCormick, her mother, Geteys Morman McCormick, her brother, Lamar (Sonny) Gaines McCormick, sister, Dolly Stratton, brother, C.J. McCormick II, and infant daughter Darleen.
Jean is survived by her husband James Wright, of 68 years; her four children, Jim and Miriam Wright, Denice Ward, Greg and Angie Wright, Randy and Trudy Wright; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Rushing, Lamar Ward, Travis Wright, Tracie Wright, Geoff Wright, Randi Lynne Wright, Ben Wright; and five great grandchildren, Malynn Ward, Turner Ward, Foster Perdue, Tindall Wright, Kakie Wright; four nieces, Cindy Stratton Begaud, Mona McCormick Linclon, Elethia Kay McCormick Griggs, Jennifer McCormick, and one nephew, Mark Stratton.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to Renee Tolliver, Violet Caesar and Donna Gilbert, for taking care of Jean in her last years of life.
