John F Browder, 90, passed away on February 26, 2017. He was born in Old Waverly on January 1, 1927 to F. S. (Fitz) Browder and Robbie Hardy Browder. John was active in a variety of pursuits during his lifetime including owning and operating several successful businesses, ranching, timber farming and consulting. He also loved wild flowers and Camelias and was on the annual tour agenda of several botanical societies and University horticulture departments. Whatever he attempted, he did with unbridled passion and effort. He had a quick wit, loved telling stories, laughing and making others laugh. He had a keen desire to help people in need and to live a "good life". He loved deeply and is loved deeply in return by his family and friends. We will all miss him greatly.
Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Thursday at Waverly Presbyterian Church, with the burial to follow in Old Waverly Cemetery.
