Orville Carl Byler, at age 90, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2018. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Clarence and Evelyn Byler, a son-in-law, Jim Bearnth, a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Byler, a sister-in-law, LaVern Beckner, and his step-daughter, Linda Lamb.
He has left to mourn his passing, his wife, Wanda, his son, Charles Byler, his daughter, Suzanne Bearnth, his brother Charles and wife, Anice, his brother, Richard Byler, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of others, including step-children, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Orville was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on September 19, 1927. He joined the Navy right out of high school and served until war's end. He then attended Oklahoma A & M and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in chemistry.
He was a valued employee of Dowell (a division of Dow Chemical Co.) in Houston, Texas, and retired from there in 1984, at which time he and his wife purchased property and moved to Huntsville, Texas.
His love of gardening resulted in a beautiful and spacious yard and a vegetable garden that grew larger with each passing year. His antique tractor was his pride and joy and you most often found him on it.
We know that Orville has joined loved ones who passed before him, and that he stopped by the Rainbow Bridge and picked up Lady and Spunky.
The visitation will be at 1:00PM and funeral service immediately following at 2:00PM at Riverside United Methodist Church on Tuesday February 13, 2018, with the burial following at Pioneer Cemetery in Riverside, Texas.
