Paul J. McGraw was born October 20, 1923 in Gardendale, Alabama and passed away December 24, 2017 in Huntsville, TX at the age of 94. Paul was one of seven children born to Robert Eugene McGraw and Ella Reid McGraw. The six McGraw brothers served their country during World War II. Paul was in the U.S. Navy from 1940-1960. He then moved his family to Huntsville and worked for 20 years with TDCJ. Paul was an avid golfer and after retirement volunteered at the H.E.A.R.T.S. Museum until his health began to fail.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Obar McGraw; two daughters, Paula McGraw Fussell (John) of Groveton, TX, and Beverly McGraw Stewart (Tommy) of Huntsville, TX; grandson, Thomas Stewart (Malinda) of Conroe, TX; step-grandson, Nathan Fussell (Rebel) of Hillsboro, TX; great-grandson, Cohen Thomas Stewart; step-great-grandsons Jessie and Hunter Fussell. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Marie Carter, Delight Dowdy (Bill), and Rita Jackson, and brothers-in-law Claude Obar (CK), and Russell Obar (Aris); and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earl, Auburn, Woodrow, Fred, and John; and sister, Pauline Eubank.
The family will receive friends and family at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:00a.m., with services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
