Phyllis's Story

Phyllis Randall Hoke, 98, of Richards, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 15, 2017. She was born on October 11, 1918 in West Sandy Community in Texas to Wheeler Purse Randall and Maggie V. Hamblen Randall. After she finished her schooling at San Jacinto School (West Sandy), she married her beloved husband William Henry Hoke on August 18, 1937.
Phyllis was a devoted Christian woman, wife and mother. She enjoyed sewing, canning goods and cooking. There was always food on the stove top for all that came by to visit.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Patricia Montgomery and husband Bobby; daughter Elizabeth Martin and husband Randy; sons Gerald Hoke and Randy Hoke; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; and sister-in- law Dorothy Hoke. She is preceded in death by her parents Wheeler and Maggie Randall; husband William Henry Hoke; daughter Barbara Bohanon; grandsons Steve Bohanon and Vincent Lashley; brothers Ned Randall, Tony Randall, Gus Randall, Jim Randall; and sisters Evelyn Mixon, V.L. White, Larue Randall and Maggie Hoke.
Memorial donations may be made to Bay's Chapel Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 250, Richards, Texas 77873.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. Mrs. Hoke will lie in state from 8:00 AM till 5:00 PM on Friday,
January 20, 2017 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. Interment will follow the service at Bay's Chapel Cemetery in Richards, Texas.
