Annie Mae Copeland Baine was born in Oakhurst, TX on March 4, 1923. She passed into heaven on May 27, 2017. She was the seventh child of Nettie and Jack Copeland. She is predeceased by her husbands, Hubert Elroy Baine, Homer Grisham and life-long friend Tommy Maddox, parents and six siblings. She graduated from Oakhurst High School as Valedictorian in 1940. She attended Blinn College and later graduated from Sam Houston State University.
She is survived by her six children: William Baine, wife Starlett and their children and grandchildren; Shirley Martin, husband Steve and their children and grandchildren; Hubert Baine, wife Denise and their children; Vera Kamerbeek, husband Leo and their children and grandchildren; James Baine, wife Jill and their children; Nettie Oakes, husband Steve and their children. She loved and was loved by her six children, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild with one on the way.
Annie was a very active member of First Baptist Church, Huntsville for fifty-two years. Her Christian legacy will long be felt by her family and all who knew her. She retired after twenty years with TDC. Afterwards she worked at the first Home Health Care agency in this area. She was also active in water aerobics, singing, dancing, garden club, Veterans group and many other senior adult activities.
Visitation will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held May 31, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Barrett and Reverend Jason Bay officiating. Burial will follow at Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery.
