Ardith Thomson Williams, 86, of Huntsville, Texas passed away on the morning of June 13, 2016 after a long life that was filled with great love. Ardith was born on July 23, 1929 in Port Huron, Michigan to James and Grace Thomson where she spent her childhood years. Not long after graduating from Port Huron High School, she met and fell in love with Richard (Dick) Williams. They married and devoted their lives to each other for the next 67 years. Ardith and her family moved to Texas early in their years together, working and living in a number of different towns. After retirement they settled in Huntsville, Texas to be closer to family.
Ardith's priority was her family, at a time when our world urges women to seek their worth and personal fulfillment in things that take them away from their families. She was first and foremost an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved unconditionally. Those who met her were inspired to be a better person. Cooking and family were two of her greatest passions, and during her life she baked, filling our hearts and satisfying our appetites. All who came were fed and loved. Then as the day turned to night, sleep was a time for soothing lullabies, tenderly sung as she rocked her babies in loving arms.
Ardith is survived by her husband Richard J. Williams, children James I. Williams and wife Cathy, Pamela L. Hainline and husband Paul, her grandchildren Robert S. Bailey and wife Jamie, Daniel J. Bailey and wife Tiffany , Christina L. Chapman and husband Ryan, and Brent J. Williams. In addition she is survived by numerous great grandchildren all of whom brought her great joy. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Grace Thomson, and her sister Wanda.
Relatives and friends are invited from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM to visit prior to a celebration of her life at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas.
