Charles William Bolding, 80, of West Sandy went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, March 7, 2017. He was born in Houston, Texas to Claude Hunter and Beulah Emma McAfee Bolding on September 11, 1936.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Wiley Dorman and Dr. Edwin Crank will officiate his funeral service, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Leigh Cemetery in West Sandy, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Chris Bolding, Andrew Garcia, Bonner Morgan, Jacob Van Huss, Clayton Kirk-Bolding and Larry Wells.
Charles grew up in the small community of Pine Valley and graduated from Cold Springs High School in 1955. He enlisted in the Navy August 24, 1955 and proudly served until August 23, 1957 with an Honorable Discharge and a recommendation for reenlistment. On August 15, 1959, he married Jeanette Wells and settled in Conroe for a short time. Later they moved to Huntsville and operated a gas station. He had the talent to do anything he set his mind to and his mind was on operating a dozer. He worked for himself and others for many years. In the late 70's to the mid 80's he and Jeanette traveled to Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and various Texas towns building golf courses. His final job before retirement was at Louisiana-Pacific in New Waverly, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 32 years and mother of his children Jeanette Wells Bolding, his father and mother-in-law James Cleo and Lillian Pool Wells, his wife Lettie Pearl Stegall Bolding, his brother Larry Bolding, his brother-in-law Luther Blasingime, and his sisters-in-law Joyce Wells Pulliam and Anna Farris Wells. He is survived by his faithful dog George, his sister Elaine Blasingime, his sister-in-law Judy Bolding, his brothers-in-law James "Red" Wells and James Pulliam, his sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth and Jacque Bolding and Kevin and Shellie Bolding, his daughters and sons-in-law Charlotte and Dennis VanHuss and Karen and Raymond Kroll, his grandchildren Chris and Julie Bolding, Elisabeth Bolding and Andrew Garcia, Sarah and Bonner Morgan, Rebekah VanHuss, Jacob VanHuss, Jeremiah VanHuss, Courtney and Nick Morphew, Clayton Kirk-Bolding, Claudia Kirk-Bolding, Heather and Wes Haynie, Monica and David Carey, Camile and Cesar Evangelista, and Carmen and Michael Parker, his great-grandchildren, Cole Bolding, Jordan Bolding, RaeLynn Brillhart, Riley Morgan, Jaxon Morphew, Xavier Haynie, Lexi Anne Carey, Kayla Kyom, Kyle Kyom, Wesley Parker, Wylie Parker and Kendall Parker, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A reception will be held at the West Sandy Community Center following the services and the family would like to invite friends and relatives to come join them for a meal.
