Dorothy Nance Hardy of Huntsville, TX. passed away in her home on Monday, June 26, 2017. She was born in Huntsville on December 10, 1915 to Virgil Nance and Myrtle Parten Nance.
She is survived by her son, Mark Hardy & his wife, Debra; daughter, Malynn Reese of Conroe; grandchildren, Cole and Lacey Hardy, Kelly Giniewicz & her husband Steve of Temple, TX., Kyle Brizendine & his wife Tara of St. Petersburg, FL., Tasha Greer & her husband Doyle, Marchae Wood & her husband Kyle, Trenda Coburn & her husband Authur, Chance, Haley and Brooke Hardy of Huntsville, TX. Numerous great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Marion Lindsey Hardy, son, Robert Gary Hardy, parents, sisters, Faye Johnson, Billie Wilcox & nephew, Dick Johnson.
Dorothy was blessed to have lived to be 101 years old and has seen many changes in her life and those of her many friends and family. She loved spending time recalling fun times with her loved ones and had a wonderful memory and loving spirit. She was full of history; she loved to garden and was an excellent cook. She loved the Lord and was active in her church.
She met and married Marion in Madisonville, TX. They later moved to Huntsville, where they opened Hardy Lumber Co. after the war and operated it until his retirement. She was very active in the community and volunteered at the hospital as a "Grey Lady". She also helped form the Study Club of Huntsville.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Addicks Addition of Oakwood Cemetery with the Reverend Ellen Willett officiating. Donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Huntsville.
