Janice's Story

Janice Arlene (Martin) Knotts, born December 7, 1955 at Ellington Airforce Base in Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2016. She was 60 years old.
She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest Buddy Martin, mother, Nellie Juanita Martin, mother-in-law, Muriel Knotts, brother, Jackson Martin, brother-in-law, Bill Marsh, daughter, Tammy Nell Pipkin, and nephew, William Dylan Cooper.
Known as "JAM," "Mom," and "Grandma" by her beloved family and friends, she is survived by her husband, John Knotts and her three children, Sammie Arlene (Pipkin) Halley, Jacob Edward Pipkin, and Mark Judson Weese, sisters, Becki Marsh an Dena Ferrell, brother-in-law, Bobby Ferrell, brother, Buddy Martin, sister-in-law, Josie Martin, grandchildren, Ashley Johnston, Dalton Bertram, Blake Pipkin, Chase Pipkin, Paige Pipkin, great-grandson, Zayne Bertram, and a plethora of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended Knotts family, and friends.
In her early years, her father was a teaching administrator that carried the family throughout the United States. The family returned to Texas in the 1960's, ultimately ending-up in Huntsville, Texas. She attended Huntsville High School and later had her three children.
Janice was a long-time member of the American Legion, serving as President of the Women's Auxiliary from 1991-1992. She enjoyed singing the National Anthem at the legion conferences and was well known for her beautiful voice. In addition to having the voice of an angel, she enjoyed painting, sewing, and crafting. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Reliable Parts in Huntsville.
In 2001, she met and married the love of her life, John Knotts. Janice was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2006 and underwent treatments leading to a full recovery. After recovering, she spent her life nurturing her family, friends, and her 3 fur babies: Judy, Jake, & JJ (proceeded by Garden).
She will always have an imprint on our lives, from her vibrant personality to her spunky attitude. She will be missed by all....until we meet again
The family will begin receive friends at 9:00 AM with a memorial service to begin at 10:00 AM in the chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas.
