Minta's Story

Minta Sue Kent Carter passed away on January 20, 2017, at the age of 84. She was born in Corrigan Texas on March 23, 1932. She attended Corrigan High School and Sam Houston State University and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lowe and Johnny Kent, her son Larry Kent Sims and her grandson Micah Sims. She is survived by her son Kelly Sims and his wife Debra, her daughter Jamie Howse and her husband Trey, her grandchildren Jennifer Wilkerson, Jessica Kirkland, William Howse, Geren Sims, Luke Sims, along with seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Carter had a great love for her family, serving them as a stay at home mom in her early years. She was a hard worker and a great friend to many.
She was well known for her talent as a seamstress and her love for life and laughter.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM till 7:30 PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. Interment will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas.
