Mrs. Myrtle Nellie (Goodin) (Smith) Shears, age 93, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 1, 1924 to Armon and Vergaline (Losey) Goodin, Sr. Myrtle had duel residence in Grant, Michigan and Huntsville, Texas. She was a member of County Line Community Church in Coopersville and Fellowship of Huntsville Church in Texas. She loved fishing, dancing, music, singing and enjoyed playing euchre, Atari Bowling, dice, and darts.
Myrtle was preceded in death by two husbands, George Smith and Charles R. Shears, daughter; Betty Louise Smith, three sons; Ronald, David and Douglas Smith, her parents, one brother; Armon Goodin, Jr., and one sister; Laura Veach.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Gerald (Linda) Smith and Jean (Dennis) Bybee, nine grandchildren; Autumn (Lee) Wheaton, Samantha (Kevin)Smith, Christine (Jeff) Ledger, Ronald (Kim) Smith, Jr., Sandy Verspoor, Ricky Smith, Debra Smith, Spring Smith, and Charles Smith, many loving great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, two sisters; Virginia Beekman and Lenora (Nony) Veach; her father-in-law; Charles Shears, sister-in-law; Sheala Rollenhagen; loving cousin and dice buddy; Joyce Hockenbraugh, nieces, nephews, children of her heart, Carol (Dan) Murphy, Marie Helton, Carol (Dan) Groleau, Rose (Bill) McGinty and for sure her church families.
A celebration of Myrtle's life will start at 4:00pm Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Ellis Log Cabin located on Hwy 980 in Huntsville, Texas with Pastor C.F. Hazelwood officiating. The celebration will continue after a luncheon with music, fellowship, hugs and happy tears.
