Norma Lou Burnett, 80, of Huntsville, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 14, 2016, at her home. Born December 28, 1935 in Owosso, Michigan, she is preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Helen Zimmerman, her husband of 33 years, Wilmot "Bill" Burnett, daughter Lynne Hargrave, son in law Lloyd Landry, brother Les Zimmerman and sister Nancy Berry. Norma (also known as "Grandma Tweety" by her family) worked at Home Healthcare of Huntsville for many years as well as Huntsville Independent School District before she retired to be a full time Mom, Gram, Grandma Tweety, and friend to many. Prior to her husband Bill's passing, they spent many years together traveling the United States.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Larry) Whitener of Huntsville, TX., Cindy Ruiz of Huntsville, TX., Kim Landry of Huntsville, TX., and Vickie (Mike) Cundiff of Copperas Cove, TX. Sons, Randy (Leigh) Burnett of Mount Pleasant, TX., Roger (Tara) Burnett of Huntsville, TX., John (Christine) Burnett of Huntsville, TX., and Wilmot (Yara) Lott of Round Rock, TX., 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends. Norma is also survived by her "Sisters" (also known as her partners in crime) Beverly Zimmerman, Nancy Woesner, Nancy Shetler, and Nancy Mackey She dearly loved her "sisters" and the time she spent shopping, playing cards, eating out, and just enjoying life with them.
Norma lived life to it's fullest. She enjoyed every day the Good Lord gave her and loved spending time with her family. Huge family get togethers were highlights in her life.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Cook Springs Baptist Church 1936 State Hwy 75 N. Huntsville, TX. 77320. The family will gather after the service for food and fellowship at Crabbs Prairie Volunteer Fire Dept. Everyone is welcome to join.
