Sherry L. (Krause) Murray died at her home in Huntsville, Texas on February 12, 2017 with her family by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Murray was the first born "New Year's baby" on January 1, 1951, in Houston, Texas to her parents Calvin and Billie Sue Krause and was raised in Manville, Texas with her younger brother Troy. After graduating from Alvin High School in 1969, she enlisted in the US Army where she trained in the Nursing Corps.
Sherry married Terry L. Murray in 1975, and they moved to Humble to begin their family. She was a devoted mother and wife, raising their children with diligent, faithfulness and care. She loved children as much as they loved her. She was as a guiding light, full of divine patience and the love of God. That love extended to her nieces, nephews, and her children's friends. They were all welcome in her home. This also led her to become a much beloved Sunday school teacher and Awanas helper, a ministry that she held throughout her life.
In fact, Sherry enjoyed helping and also had a unique gift for administration. She shined in secretarial roles, her most recent having been a staff member at Fellowship of Huntsville Church, where she retired after more than a decade of loyal service.
Quiet energy fueled her many passions. "Can do" was at her core and she loved a challenge. Sherry was thrilled by inventiveness, learning, and collecting, picking up "how to" in any domain whether it was simple mechanics, the human body or a wide variety of crafts or new technologies - she wanted to know.
Sherry's life was a testimony to steadfast love and selflessly putting the needs of others before her own. She was a determined servant, perseverant in trouble, trustworthy and kind. A beautiful person, she was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
Sherry is survived by her husband Terry Lynn Murray; daughter Kristen Murray Antille and husband Pascal; son Joshua Neil Murray; grandchildren Madeleine Antille, Samuel Antille and Naomi Antille; father Calvin Louie Krause; sister-in-law Linda Krause and children; cherished cousin Ginger Schattel; and other special relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Billie Sue Crouch Krause; and brother Troy Albert Krause.
