Stephen's Story

Stephen Loyd Bohanon, 53, a lifelong resident of Huntsville, Texas passed away in his sleep on the morning of January 11, 2017 in Huntsville, Texas. Steve was born July 1, 1963 in Huntsville, Texas. Steve graduated from Huntsville High School and attended Sam Houston State University. Steve was a great salesman and worked at sales jobs in both the auto industry and lumber yards in and around Huntsville. This past year was a very successful year for Steve both physically and spiritually. He was working at McKenzie's BBQ in Huntsville Texas. Steve will be remembered for his quick wit, his jokes, banter and wordplay which could leave you scratching your head or laughing so hard you cry. Steve attended various churches including Northside Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, and Burning Hope Baptist/Friday Night Church in Trinity. He loved a good bible lesson and was always willing to learn something new from the bible that could help him.
He is survived by son: William Bohanon, granddaughter: Skylar Kay Bohanon. Sisters: Terri Bohanon and Sherrie Lynn Utter. Maternal grandmother Phyllis Hoke. and his life partner Tammy Ardoin. He is also survived by many other family members including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by mother, Barbara Bohanon and his maternal grandfather, William Hoke.
His friends, with the blessing of his family, will be holding a memorial service 6:00 PM Thursday January 19th 2017 at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home Chapel located at 672 FM 980 Huntsville, Texas. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. The family will hold a private burial service at a later date where his ashes will be laid to rest next to his mother in the Bays Chapel Cemetery, Walker County.
