Clydia Faye Burns
Clydia Faye Burns, 90 of Huntsville Texas passed away June 24, 2016 in Waco, Texas. Faye was born October 12, 1925 in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Tyler, Texas where she developed what would become a lifelong passion for dancing. She married Robert C. (Bob) Burns in 1946 and they eventually settled in Huntsville, Texas and she established Faye Burns Dance Studio. Over the years Faye Burns touched the lives of thousands of youngsters in her community, teaching them dancing and so much more: confidence, self esteem, and the meaning of true grace. She also touched the lives of many older Huntsville residents when she and her dancers routinely performed at area retirement centers and nursing homes. Her love for children was evident in all aspects of her life. Over the years she was a dedicated March of Dimes volunteer, a softball coach, and she traveled the country with her dancers as they attended dance conventions and competitions. Faye was an extraordinary story teller with a zest for life that was contagious. She played many roles: wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend; but her greatest role was being a mentor and inspiration to the countless students she taught. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clyde Burns; her children, Barbara Faye (Babs) Preston and Robert Don (Bobby) Burns; grandchildren , Roni Riggs and John (JB) Hughes; great-great granddaughter, Alayah Dawn Goodman. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Burns Cox and daughter in law, Annette Burns; her grandchildren: Niki Preston Chesson and Jeb Chesson, Austin Preston and April Hatter, Chelsea Burns Rainer and Travis Rainer, Leanna Hughes, Dennis Preston and Melanie Caskey Preston, and Stephen Preston; great grandchildren: Courtney Hughes MacTaggart and Donald MacTaggart, Roni Hughes Boidy and Tyler Boidy, Lauren Hughes, Kinlee B Chesson, Kyle Hatter, Dylan Hatter, Jordan Caskey, Tyler Preston and Brittany Preston, and Dylan Preston; and great-great grandson, Waylon John Boidy. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Doughtie, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. "The world is a quieter place without the sounds of her tap shoes, but heaven truly received an angel." --Kelly Hebert Funeral services will be held at Saint Stephens Episcopal Church Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 am.
