Amaya Johnson was born on November 3, 2016 to Alonzo Johnson and Melissa Jenkins in The Woodlands, Texas.
Amaya loved life, to smile, play and dance. She absolutely loved to wear lip gloss and all of the pretty girl things. Her personality was captivating because she was a no non-sense kind of girl. She touched every life she encountered. Her resilience taught everyone around her to meet life head on and give it all you've got.
Amaya's favorite playmates included Minnie Mouse and Peppa Pig. She also loved sing alongs and kids you tube.
Amaya leaves to cherish her memories her parents, siblings: Darren Byrd (who gave her the will to fight), Octavious Johnson, Alonzo Johnson and Ky'rie Renee Johnson; grandparents: Zale and Birdie Jenkins, Walter and Sherry Johnson; uncles: Zale Jenkins (Melisa) and Willie Taylor (Glenda); aunts: Sharon Jenkins Kelley (Elvis), LaShanda Spurlock Williams (Clyde), Rovanda Spurlock, Shanelle Johnson Lemore and Shante Johnson, and a host of additional family and friends. Viewing will be held at Cox Funeral Home, Friday, May 1, 2020, 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020, 1:00 p.m. at Brooke Cemetery, in Huntsville.
