Katy - Andre H. Abbey, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and son, went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on September 11, 1953 in Houston, Texas. Andre lived a full and joyful life in New Waverly, Texas attending the New Waverly schools where he had lots of friends. He also lived in Huntsville and later in Katy, Texas.
Andre married the love of his life, Katie Abbie June 2, 1984. Andre was the proud father of two daughters, Jessica Teich (Chris), and Crissy Paterakis (Kyle). Nothing brought him greater joy than being "Papa" to his beloved grandchildren, Kate, Emma and Amanda.
He is survived by his mother Geneva Abbey Cooney and his brothers, James and Jerry and numerous other relatives and friends that will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold T "Bubba" Abbey, brothers, John Allen "Johnny" Allen and Richard Maurice "Ricky" Abbey, and stepfather Bill Cooney and other loved ones who now welcome him into eternal peace.
Andre's celebration of life will be Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11AM at First Baptist Church, 460 Fisher Street, New Waverly, Texas 77358. All who knew and loved him are invited to attend and honor his memory.
