Brett Quintin Skidmore passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on May 12, 2024 in Trinity, Texas. He was born in Huntsville, Texas on July 21, 1960 to Robert Everett and Deanna Francis (Gilstrap) Skidmore.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Everett Skidmore and mother, Deanna Francis Gideon; and brother William Dean Skidmore.
Brett is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Deborah Marie (Forsythe) Skidmore; children Quintin Skidmore and fiancé Stacy Lee, Daniel Skidmore, Kacy Frerichs and fiancé Will McWhorter, Cody Skidmore and wife Alex, Mindy Board and husband Matt, and Nathan Booth and wife Carrie; grandchildren Madison, Teja, Johanna, Allison, Breann, Rian, Samuel, Mia, Zoey, Jordan, Natalie, and Aubree; siblings Sabrina Hamilton and husband Buddy, Gene Skidmore and fiancé Julie, and Mike Skidmore and wife Debbie; and his Mama Kay Skidmore. Numerous extended family and friends also survive.
Brett was known for his outgoing personality and never met a stranger. In his leisure time he enjoyed dancing, playing poker and pool, but his favorite was a good hand of blackjack. He will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind to cherish his memory and protect his legacy.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Eastern Gate Cemetery in Trinity, Texas with Pastor Guy Hargrave officiating.
Pallbearers included Matthew Board, Jordan Board, Chris Seitz, Ned Herndon, Steve Herring, and Tim Bonvillion.
