Charlotte Fern Fisher Oleinik was born in Baytown, Texas on December 22, 1943 to Lucillia (Crickie) and BD (BBJack) Fisher. Her walk with the Lord began with her parents' examples. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, and then went to Florida College. While on summer break with a friend in Wisconsin, she met the love of her life, Tom Oleinik. They met while Charlotte was working as a waitress, and Tom was a Wisconsin state trooper. They were married within 6 months in 1965 and were together for over 58 years. They had three children together, DeWitt, Shawn, and JD, and over the years took in over 50 kids that needed the love of a Christian home and family, two of whom are considered adopted children, Jeff Young and Troy McQueen. Throughout her life, Charlotte was known for her projects, whether it was a craft sale, a window display at the antique store, decorating for a party or a friend, giving a talk at Rotary or a ladies' retreat, and teaching Bible class to college-age girls. All of those projects gave her the experience necessary to start the HEARTS Veterans Museum, which she felt was her magnum opus. But most important to her, above any earthly accomplishments and recognition, was a life lived in service to God and His people.

Charlotte, known as Sha-Sha to her loved ones, went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2024 at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Tom Oleinik, and her siblings Avilda Miller and Dalton (Jane) Fisher. She is also survived by her children: DeWitt (Caroline) Oleinik, Shawn (Teresa) Oleinik, JD (Tara) Oleinik, Jeff (Melanie) Young, Troy (Kathryn) McQueen; her 18 grandchildren and her 9 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to honor Charlotte is planned for 2 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Huntsville Church of Christ, 3737 Hwy 30 West, Huntsville, TX 77340.
