David John Tibbs (Pancho) Obituary

David "Pancho" Tibbs's last wish was fulfilled on September 24, 2021, at the age of 74, when he was welcomed into the gates of heaven while in his home with the support of his loving family. He was born on June 12, 1947, in Houston Texas to Hal Tibbs Jr. and Aurelia Ploeger Tibbs. David was a huge family man, a loving husband, a caring father, a supportive brother, and an amazingly outgoing grandpa. His contagious smile and energy easily radiated off him to the surrounding souls that were blessed to be a part of his life. Not only was he a dedicated family man but he was also generous and completely selfless. David Tibbs was a Vietnam war veteran who after serving his country from June 1966 to August 1969, came home and served his family even better. Each and every one of his friends and family members could tell you that his soul was pure, and he will forever be missed and loved.

David Tibbs was preceded in death by both his mother and father, and his brother Kevin Pendarvis. Left to cherish in his memory is his wife of 26 years, Silvia Melchor Tibbs, his stepmother, Ruby Baker Tibbs, his sisters, Becky Tibbs, and Heidi (James) Oppermann, and his brother, Talmadge Pendarvis. David is also survived by his children Juan Andreas (Claudia) Melchor, Joe Melchor, Juan Antonio (Carmen) Melchor, Micaela (Everardo) Moreno, Patricia (James) Harden, and Edgar (Christy) Melchor, and longtime family friend, Linda Reese. Also surviving him are his twenty grandchildren and his pet dog Lucy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 16, 2021, at 10:00 am at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home Chapel 672 FM 980 Huntsville, Texas.
