Florence Adelaide Holcomb
Florence Holcomb was born on January 18, 1931 in San Saba, Texas and died on September 12, 2019 in Friendswood, Texas. She had been a resident of Huntsville since 1980. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Huntsville.

Florence was married to the Rev. Thomas S. Holcomb and together they served United Methodist Churches from 1950 until 1992. They were appointed to First United Methodist in Huntsville from 1980 until 1986. They retired in 1992 and returned to Huntsville where they had their home in Elkins Lake.

From 1990 until 1992 she lived on the south coast of England where Tom served three Methodist churches.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, B.J. and Flo Adelle Parks, her son Burrel Holcomb and grandson Joseph Williams. Surviving are her husban Tom of 68 years, two daughters Sharon Welch and husband Randy of Friendswood, Texas; and FloEllen Williams of Pratt, Kansas; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at First United Methodist Church, Huntsville, on October 12 at 1p.m.

A donation may be made to First United Methodist Church in memory of Florence.

Florence was a huge influence in my life. She was to me, and many others, a surrogate mother whenever you needed one. I loved her very much and rejoice in her beautiful life ! Prayers for all of the Holcomb family as they grieve and rejoice. Love to you all!
