Livingston - James "Jim" Mac Wolfe, 78, a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and lifelong music lover, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2025, in Livingston, Texas. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Providence Baptist Church in Livingston with Bro. Robert Murphy officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., just prior to the service.

Born on January 22, 1947, in Greenville, Texas, to James Madison Wolfe and Martha (McWhirter) Wolfe, Jim moved with his family to Huntsville in 1948. He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1966 and later from Sam Houston State University in 1970 with a degree in Journalism and Photographytwo passions that remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Jim moved to Livingston in 1971, where he built not only a life and a family but also a legacy defined by creativity, kindness, and a love for the music community. He was a man of many talents and never afraid of hard work. His career path was wide and colorfulworking as a photographer, a cable technician, and a familiar voice and face at KETX, both on the radio for broadcasts and behind the cameras for high school football games. He also spent years installing DirecTV systems, always with a smile and a story to tell.

But his greatest professional joy came later in life when he fulfilled a lifelong dream by launching his own radio station, KDOL 105.5 FM, affectionately known as "The Wolf." Jim poured his heart into the station, sharing his favorite music, sermons from Providence Baptist Church, and local sportsalways in his unmistakable voice and with the passion he had for the community he loved.

Jim was baptized in the fall of 2020 at Providence Baptist Church, where he found spiritual peace and purpose in his later years. He was a devoted member of the church and cherished the fellowship he found there.

Music was the rhythm of Jim's soul, and animals and photography were his lifelong companions. He was known for always having a camera in hand, capturing candid moments of his daughters and grandchildren, as well as neighborhood kids when his daughters were growing up.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Jamie Wolfe Kinser and Dusty Meadors, both of Huntsville, Texas; Dusty's spouse, Scott Jones; grandchildren, Tiffany Kinser, James "Dalton" Kinser, Colin Meadors, and Flinn Jones; his sister, Marjean Creager of Huntsville; his cousin, Carol Harrigan of Seattle, Washington; and a whole host of relatives, friends, and "adopted" neighborhood kids who were all loved by Jim with open arms and a generous heart.

To know Jim Wolfe was to be invited into a storyone filled with history lessons and the sound of a favorite song floating on the radio. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind memories that will play on in the hearts of all who knew him.
