Jeff Johnson was born in Walker County, Texas, to the late Lige and Mary Smith Johnson. Jeff attended public school in the Dodge Community. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received his mechanic certification. After his Honorable Discharge, he returned to the Huntsville area and married Minnie Chambers. To that union, one child was born. He was self-employed as a Mechanic and Logger, but enjoyed farming and ranching. Mr. Jeff was a member of the Texas Cattlemens Association for many years. He leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Minnie Johnson; son, Jeff Jr. (Tomeka) Johnson of Huntsville, TX; and 2 sisters, Hattie B. Massey and Mary V. Moten, both of Dodge, TX; 5 Grandchildren, Jennifer (Anthony) Kelly, Jemelle (Mark) Spivey, Jeff III (Amanda) Johnson, Jeffrey and Jada Johnson; 11 Great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
