Fairfield, Texas - Laurie Sue Powledge-Wise, born July 3, 1960, in Pasadena, Texas, passed away on September 4, 2025, after a lifelong battle with juvenile diabetes. Raised in Huntsville, she was known for her bold spirit, deep love for animals—and her compassion for often rescuing animals in need.

An avid reader and exceptional student, Laurie graduated from Brazosport College School of Nursing with a record-setting score on the State Board exam. She was fiercely loyal, outspoken, and known for her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor. Laurie cherished her role as a mother and "Mawmaw" and extended love and support to many beyond her immediate family.

She is survived by her husband Hudson Wise, her children Cody Yates, Bryan Brady(Lyndsie), William Wise(Emily), Melissa Logan(Jeremy); her brother, Troy Powledge(Kitty); her sister, Julie Hefner(Chip); sister in law LouEllen Wise Schelenger(David)and a legacy of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Louie and Jamie Sue Powledge, and grandparents, Jim and Lizzie Belle Jernigan and Kirby Powledge.

In her memory, donations are encouraged to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church in Huntsville, TX.
