Linda Sue Barnes Obituary

Linda Sue "Dinny" Barnes was born on December 13, 1949 in Warren, Ohio. She went home on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Dinny is preceded in death by her parents, William Jay Goswick and Ruth E. McCreary Goswick.

Dinny leaves behind to treasure her memories her loving husband of 32 years, William Homer Barnes; her sister Brenda Goswick; her grandchildren Chloe, Caitlin and Coby Raney, Camryn Mertz and Caleb Campbell; best friends Kayla and Cordell Duerer, Courtney and Michael Hilliard and their daughter Haisley Hilliard.


Dinny received a degree in education from Bowling Green University, of Ohio. She dreamed of being surrounded by children. She was employed for Shepherd ISD for 28 years as a teacher, before retiring. She was a Professional Showman of horses. She loved to travel the state of Texas looking forward to the next competition ride and horse show. Dinny won many competitions and received many trophies throughout her career. She was a member of the AQHA, member of Walker County 4-H of Huntsville. Every year the First Baptist Church would hold Youth Camp, and at the camp each year she would be there for the children teaching them how to ride a horse and enjoying the rides with the children through the woods.

She lived life to the fullest, she never met a stranger, and was a beautiful lady.
