Marcia Gayle Cloe
Gayle Cloe went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2020. A lifelong Texan, she was born Marcia Gayle Stovall on August 21, 1945 in Weslaco, Texas. She spent most of her childhood in Tahoka, where she attended school and worked at the theater. There, she struck up a friendship with a young man from Tahoka, Charles (Chuck) Cloe. On his return from a tour in Vietnam, the two dated for a week and then married on March 31, 1967. The couple had only a week to honeymoon before he left for a second tour of duty. The end of this month would have marked their 53rd anniversary, disproving predictions that "it wouldn't last"! Gayle and Chuck spent their lives in different parts of Texas, where Gayle was a homemaker. A passionate animal lover, she cared for many dogs during her life, all who simply adored her! Gayle was close to her Maker, and enjoyed Gospel music. She and Chuck followed Christian music groups and attended their concerts when they could. Gayle was a kind, cheerful person who retained her optimism and faith throughout her health battles. She will be missed by her sister, Judy Smith, sister-in-law Chris Harlan, brother-in-law Bob Cloe, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as her beloved Chuck. Services will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Huntsville, TX, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Interment will follow at the Riverside Pioneer Cemetery in Riverside, TX.
