Margaret Anne Zander Obituary
Margaret Anne Zander, a beloved member of The Woodlands community, passed away on August 18, 2024, in her hometown. Born in the winter of 1945 to Fidelis and Sidney Burton. Margaret spent her early years in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, alongside her siblings Greg, Elizabeth, Christina, and Sidney. In 1960, the family moved to California's beach area, where Margaret met her future husband in high school. She was a devout and loving mother and grandmother raising two boys and later grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved family vacations to California.
Margaret was known for her remarkable work ethic, which began in her youth. She moved to Huntsville in 1990 and then to The Woodlands in 1995. Over the last 30 years, Margaret worked with Don and Arlean McLaughlin in multiple business, including real estate, acquisition, management, development and construction. She served in an integral role as a business manager, confidant, and friend offering not only her professional expertise but also her unwavering support and wisdom. She held the deep respect and affection of both colleagues and her work family. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her son Steven and wife Debbie Zander of Henderson, Nevada, Jeff and wife Debbie Zander of Huntsville, Texas as well as her granddaughters Alyssa and Lauren and her great-grandson Atlas along with her brother Greg Burton of Huntsville, Texas.
A memorial Service to honor Margaret will be held at Waller Thornton Funeral Home Saturday September 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery located in central Huntsville at 1836 Sam Houston Avenue.
