Ray Ellisor, age 71 of New Boston, Texas passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Wadley Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ellisor was born April 27, 1947 in Huntsville, Texas. He was retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice, was a rancher and a Tradesman, a former Silver Hair Legislator for State of Texas, a member of Bowie County Search and Rescue Unit, and a member of Malta Baptist Church, DeKalb, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Irene Ellisor.

Ray was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great Grandfather and a good friend to many. Being a Poppa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought a smile to his face and joy to his life, even as his health started to fade.

Ray enjoyed the outdoors, whether that was tending the horses and cows, fishing, or just sitting on the porch at the lake house. Ray loved life and his wife Ann. Together they enjoyed many adventures, traveling all over the country visiting new places and revisiting some of their favorites.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Ellisor of New Boston, Texas, two daughters and sons in law, Melissa and Mark Adams of Huntsville, Texas, Edith and Kenneth Dixon of Dalhart, Texas, two sons and daughters in law, Mathew Ray (Buster) and Tish Ellisor of Spring Branch, Texas, Will and Callie Yeager of Kilgore, Texas, one brother and sister in law, Jerry and Alice Ellisor of Huntsville, Texas, nine grandchildren, Melynda and John Tobias, Taylor and Bella Hamilton, Tessa and Nick Barrett, Garret and Sadie Ellisor, Tanner Hamilton, Emilie Ellisor, Trace Yeager, Wyatt Yeager, Lane Ellisor, five great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. .

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Malta Baptist Church, Hwy 82 DeKalb, Texas with Bro. Kelley Shanks, Bro. Ed Eaton, and Bro. Mike Powell officiating. Interment will be in Danville Cemetery, Kilgore, Texas at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Funeral Home.
