Huntsville, Texas - On the early evening of Sunday, May 10th, 2026, Mike Robinson passed away

peacefully at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital.

Michael Claude Robinson was born on January 17, 1950, in Huntsville, Texas, the

second of three children. Mike lived his early years in the home of his

grandparents, Henderson Yoakum and Mary Alla (Gibbs) Robinson, located at the

corner of Sam Houston Avenue and 10th Street, where the CLC of the First United

Methodist Church now stands.

A native son of Huntsville, Mike attended the Huntsville public schools. He was a

graduate of Huntsville High School, the class of 1968. He attended Southern

Methodist University and remained a loyal alumnus of his beloved alma mater. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Huntsville

and sang in the choir for many years. Mike had a deep Faith and a kind word for

everyone.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Herndon Yoakum and Edna Ray

Robinson; by his older brother, Herndon Yoakum Robinson, Jr.; and by his

younger sister, Sandford "Sandy" Gibbs Robinson.

He is survived by many devoted friends, including Tami and Bruce Scruggs and

Krissi Butler. Mike is also survived by many family members, including cousins

Mac Woodward, Jr., Bill Woodward, Mark Woodward, Mary Lee (Woodward)

Douglas, Frances (Robinson) Snipes, and Florine (Robinson) Klussmann.

A Graveside Service to honor Mike's legacy will be held on Friday, May 22nd, at

10:30 a.m., at the historic Oakwood Cemetery of Huntsville.

The Heritage Oak Funeral Home of Huntsville is handling the arrangements.
