Huntsville, TX - Mike McCarty Lansford, Jr. age 78 of Huntsville passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born June 24, 1947 in Crockett to parents, Mike McCarty Lansford, Sr. and Catherine Fanelle Skipper Lansford. He was a student of Crockett schools, member of the FFA, lead trumpet player in the band, and graduate of Crockett High School, Class of 1965. Mike then attended Sam Houston State University where he received his Master's Degree. While at Sam, he was a proud member of the SHSU Rodeo Team and was a member of the Sam Houston State University Alumni Association. He was a member of the Young Farmers of Huntsville and operated Mike Lansford Calf Roping School where he changed numerous lives through his teachings. Mike was a longtime member of the Baptist Church.

Mike is survived by wife of 55 years, Sandra Charlene Lansford of Huntsville; daughter, Lacy LeaAnne Lansford and wife, Frankie Leanne Lindsey of San Antonio; grandsons, Charlie Paul Lansford-Lindsey and Jesse Alexander Lansford-Lindsey; sisters, Kathryn Louise Ward of Crockett, Nita Ann Reed and husband, Glynn of Crockett, Carolyn Sue Cerbo and husband, Robert of Lufkin; host of nieces and nephews and friends that were like family. He was preceded in death by parents, Mike and Fanelle Lansford; brother-in-law, Al Ward.

Funeral services for Mike McCarty Lansford will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bill Clem officiating.
