New Waverly, Tx - Mona Lisa Spurbeck, 59, of New Waverly, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2025.

Mona was born on July 6, 1966, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Mona Babbitt. In 1985, while living in Spokane, Washington, she met and married the love of her life, Jerry Spurbeck. Together they shared 40 wonderful years of marriage and raised two children, Joseph (40) and Ramona (39), while embracing the Marine Corps lifestyle and the many moves that came with it.

Mona's greatest joy in life was her family. She poured her heart into raising her children, ensuring they always felt loved and supported. Later, she found immense happiness in being "Nana" to her five grandchildren—Karsen (18), Kael (12), Kaylee (9), Autumn (5), and Kaden (5)—whom she adored beyond measure.

To know Mona was to know love, laughter, and kindness. She had a gift for making people feel special, and she cherished every friendship and connection she made throughout her life. Her love for her husband, children, and grandchildren was boundless and everlasting.

Mona is preceded in death by her parents, Art and Mona Babbitt, and her brother, Kenny Babbitt. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry; her children, Joseph (spouse Alayna Spurbeck) and Ramona (spouse Matt Kelley); her beloved grandchildren, Karsen, Kael, Kaylee, Autumn, and Kaden; and her siblings, Billy Babbitt, Robbie Babbitt, Arthur Babbitt, Sandy Jacobs, Calvin Babbitt, Chris Catt, and Chrissy Stephens.

Mona's legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Seven Bar Station in New Waverly, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mona's name to Breast Cancer Research.
