Huntsville - Nancy Perkins Wilson was born in Shamrock, Texas on February 5, 1931. She left our world in Huntsville, Texas on June 8, 2025, at the age of 94. Nancy was a graduate of Huntsville High School in 1949 and Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1953. She married Ben F. Wilson in 1955. They moved to San Antonio, and she taught for the Alamo Heights Independent School District for over 30 years. Ben and Nancy retired and moved back to Huntsville in 1990. Ben passed away in 2011.

She was predeceased by her parents William Coy Perkins and Emma Ruth Love Perkins, her brothers and their wives, William Drew Perkins and Mary Knotts Perkins, and John Cody Perkins and recently deceased Pamela Malone Perkins. She is survived by two first cousins Wayne Roberts and Robert Sentell and many nieces and nephews and their families. Nancy had many wonderful friends for whom she was grateful.

Nancy was very active in many organizations in Huntsville including the Huntsville Book Club, Huntsville Crime Stoppers, various yearly events put on by the Elkins Lake Community Association, the Outlook Club, the Huntsville Library Board, Friends of the Huntsville Library Board, the Little Theater Board, as well as many areas in the Methodist Church, of which she was a lifetime member.

Her true loves, other than Ben, were a long list of very spoiled "weenie dogs" as she called them and Sam Houston State University. She served in many capacities on the Sam Houston Alumni Board and the Walker County Sam Houston Alumni Board.

Nancy's ashes will be buried with Ben's at Oakwood Cemetery, Addickes Addition in Huntsville.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at Elkins Lake Country Club on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 am. Nancy wanted those that loved her to gather and remember her together. She also requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Coy and Ruth Perkins Scholarship at Sam Houston State University.
